Job summary

Luxoft in Kraków is seeking an experienced Java engineer to support the Derivatives Principal Flow Trading platform. You will design, develop, and maintain latency-sensitive trading applications used by traders and quants across global markets.

The role requires deep expertise in high-performance Java, distributed systems, and production support. You will work in a fast-paced, Agile environment with mentoring responsibilities and a strong emphasis on observability and reliability.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software development experience, preferably in electronic trading or front-office environments.
• Strong Java development expertise with experience building high-performance, low-latency applications
• Experience developing and supporting business-critical trading systems
• Knowledge of distributed systems, messaging, and event-driven architectures
• Strong Linux and scripting skills
• Experience with software engineering best practices, including testing, observability, and production support
• Strong communication skills and ability to work directly with business stakeholders
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools, preferably GitHub Copilot

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and support latency-sensitive trading applications and trading algorithms
• Drive projects and end-to-end deliveries, taking ownership from design through production deployment
• Work closely with traders, quants, and business stakeholders to translate complex business and regulatory requirements into innovative technical solutions
• Build robust, scalable, and highly available Java server-side systems
• Apply software engineering best practices to ensure solution quality, security, reliability, performance, and compliance
• Enhance observability, monitoring, and production support capabilities, proactively identifying and resolving operational risks
• Investigate incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement long-term remediation measures
• Collaborate within a global Agile team delivering business value in iterative development cycles
• Mentor junior developers and actively contribute to engineering excellence and knowledge sharing initiatives
• Drive adoption of modern development practices, including AI-assisted software engineering and automation
