Job summary

BEC is seeking a Senior Java Software Engineer to join the core banking domain. You will build and maintain backend services, design RESTful APIs, and integrate with banking systems using Kafka subscriptions and REST/SOAP APIs.

You will work with analysts, architects, and QA to translate complex financial logic into maintainable code, participate in code reviews, mentor juniors, and contribute to architectural decisions in a regulated industry.

Qualifications

• Experience building backend applications in Java with Spring Boot and Spring Core.
• Strong understanding of JPA/Hibernate and relational databases; write efficient SQL and data modeling.
• Hands-on experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs and SOAP web services.
• Comfort with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and containerized deployments using Docker and OpenShift.
• Experience with message-driven architecture using Kafka or IBM MQ.
• Familiarity with Agile software development lifecycle and ability to work independently.
• Ability to own features end-to-end and communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Java backend solutions within CORE BANKING domain.
• Design, implement, and evolve RESTful APIs and integration solutions.
• Collaborate with Business Analysts, Product Owner, QA, architects, and developers to clarify requirements.
• Contribute to solution design, code reviews, and architectural discussions for robust solutions.
• Ensure stability, performance, and quality of systems owned by the team.
• Participate in Scrum ceremonies and drive continuous improvement.
• Support analysis, troubleshooting, and refinement of existing solutions.
