Job summary

Worldline is hiring a senior Java engineer in Warsaw to help design and deliver robust payment technology services. You will own end-to-end aspects from API design to deployment pipelines, collaborating with cross-functional teams across the Risk Tech Services unit.

You will work with Java, Spring Boot, PostgreSQL, Docker and modern CI/CD tooling, applying secure coding practices and advanced testing to ensure reliable systems. This role fosters growth and hands-on leadership in a global team.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of professional Java development experience.
• Experience with modern Java (latest LTS) and tooling.
• Proficiency in Java, OO and functional concepts.
• Strong Spring Boot and Spring ecosystem experience.
• Relational DB experience with PostgreSQL; design and tuning.
• Experience with Flyway or Liquibase for migrations.
• Design and build RESTful APIs; integrate distributed services.
• Experience with Docker and CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins/GitLab).
• Solid testing: unit and integration (JUnit, Testcontainers).
• Knowledge of clean/hexagonal architecture, patterns and security.
• Git and modern branching/merging workflows.

Responsibilities

• Work with cross-functional teams to deliver features and services.
• Own architecture decisions: service boundaries, APIs and data models.
• Design database schemas and manage migrations.
• Build RESTful APIs and asynchronous integrations.
• Apply resilience patterns and promote test-driven development.
• Own delivery: CI/CD pipelines, containers, cloud infra, observability.
• Diagnose complex issues; lead incident investigation and resolution.
• Participate in code reviews; mentor junior developers.
• Uphold coding standards, security practices and design principles.
