Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced MES & Digital Factory specialist to drive business-IT collaboration in a discrete manufacturing setting. You will map current processes, define user requirements, and translate them into actionable specifications for the technology team.

The role includes overseeing implementation, training, and continuous improvement initiatives. Travel up to 25% is expected as you support production and project needs, maintaining documentation and ensuring user satisfaction

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or IT (or equivalent).
• 6–10 years’ experience in discrete manufacturing.
• Basic knowledge of Automotive MES & Digital Factory processes.
• Experience facilitating groups.
• Experience in business process mapping and optimization.
• Knowledge of SAP preferred.
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
• Ability to liaise between business and IT to define, design, and implement solutions.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Able to understand packaged software functionality and perform basic admin tasks after vendor training.
• Travel 10–25%.

Responsibilities

• Define user needs for MES & Digital Factory functions in cross-functional teams.
• Produce as-is process maps via interviews with process owners and users.
• Produce optimized process maps with input from owners and users.
• Determine user requirements for configuration and presentation of MES & Digital Factory solutions.
• Translate process maps and requirements into information for the technology team lead and IT Manager.
• Assist in preparing implementation initiatives for steering committee approval.
• Overlap implementation of approved items, including training and user satisfaction.
• Create lessons learned during each implementation stage.
• Monitor solution metrics and develop continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support special projects for MES & Digital Factory.
• Maintain technical expertise and process documentation.
• Provide ongoing production support for existing MES & Digital Factory solutions.
• Create and maintain DRD-based functional specification documentation.

Requirements

• 6 to 10 years of experience working in discrete manufacturing industry
• Basic knowledge of Automotive MES & Digital Factory process required
• Experience of group facilitation
• Experience of business process mapping and optimization
• Knowledge of SAP is preferred
• Good organizational skills and ability to multi-task effectively
• Ability to act as a liaison between the business and IT to define, design, and implement solutions
• Ability to absorb information quickly and make decisions based on each issue’s merit
• Good analytical and problem solving abilities
• Excellent communications and presentation skills
• Ability to give clear verbal and written information geared to specific audiences
• Ability to understand out of the box packaged software functionality and perform basic administration tasks after vendor-provided training
