Aptiv is seeking a Senior Innovation Technical Lead to steer exploration and development of next-generation compute platforms and Software Defined Vehicle technologies. You will bridge innovation, engineering and customer needs to shape future architectures and compute solutions.

You will lead innovation projects, drive prototyping, evaluate new technologies, and define system-level concepts for HW/SW integration, contributing to long-term roadmaps and cross-domain collaboration.

Qualifications

• Degree in CS/CE/EE or related field.
• Extensive experience in embedded systems and automotive electronics.
• Strong system-architecture and HW/SW integration knowledge.
• Experience with concept creation, evaluation, and prototypes.
• Excellent English communication and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

Job description

As a Senior Innovation Technical Lead, you will drive the exploration and development of next-generation compute platforms and Software Defined Vehicle technologies. You will combine deep technical expertise with innovation leadership to transform emerging technologies into compelling concepts, demonstrators, and future business opportunities. Acting as a bridge between innovation, engineering, and customer needs, you will help shape future vehicle architectures and compute solutions.

Your Role

• Lead innovation projects related to centralized compute platforms, Software Defined Vehicle technologies, communication frameworks, and system architectures.
• Drive technical concept development, prototyping, and proof-of-concept activities.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and assess their applicability to future vehicle platforms.
• Ensure technical feasibility and scalability of innovation concepts.
• Define system-level concepts for future compute architectures and HW/SW integration.
• Contribute to technology roadmaps and long-term innovation strategy.
• Support cross-domain collaboration between hardware, software, systems, and product engineering teams.
• Support customer innovation workshops and early-stage technology discussions.
• Present technical concepts, demonstrators, and innovation roadmaps to customers and stakeholders.
• Translate customer challenges and market trends into innovation opportunities.

Your Background

• Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• Extensive experience in embedded systems, compute platforms, automotive electronics, or software-defined architectures.
• Strong understanding of system architecture, HW/SW integration, and vehicle communication technologies.
• Experience in concept creation, technology evaluation, and prototype development.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Fluency in English.
• Experience with High Performance Computing (HPC), zonal architectures, virtualization, AI-enabled systems, or Software Defined Vehicle technologies.
• Experience in customer‑facing technical roles, innovation projects, or technology consulting.
• Knowledge of automotive communication technologies such as Ethernet, CAN, SOME/IP, DDS, or TSN.
