Job summary

Akamai Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Senior II Security Researcher to help safeguard the Internet by analyzing threats and developing innovative defense techniques across Akamai's security platforms.

You will explore new ideas, publish research, and present at security conferences, while collaborating with Security Architects, Researchers, and Software Engineers to strengthen resilience against adversaries.

Qualifications

• Expertise in computer and network security, computer science, mathematics, or engineering.
• Knowledge of penetration testing methodologies, techniques, tools, and their application in cybersecurity assessments and vulnerability identification.
• Understanding security technologies, processes, and concepts for effective implementation and alignment with objectives.
• Develop expertise in TCP, UDP, HTTP, and DNS protocols for network communication and troubleshooting.
• Demonstrate technical aptitude and enthusiasm for continuous learning.
• Understand cybercrime, cyberwarfare, underground networks, and related groups.
• Conduct dark web research and uncover indicators.

Responsibilities

• Understand current cybersecurity threats, attack vectors, and vulnerabilities to identify mitigation strategies.
• Develop LLM workflows and AI agents to process unstructured intelligence and enhance the threat intelligence platform.
• CVE/Vulnerability Assessment.
• Research emerging attack tools, techniques, and procedures while identifying effective protective strategies.
• Produce and present intelligence for internal security teams, customer security groups, and the broader security community.
• Develop research tools to facilitate collection and analysis of intelligence from internal and external sources.
• Collaborate with Security Architects, Researchers, and Software Engineers to enhance Akamai systems against adversaries.

As a Senior II Security Researcher you will be responsible for:

• Understanding current cybersecurity threats, attack vectors, and vulnerabilities thoroughly ensures effective identification and implementation of mitigation strategies.
