Job summary

Akamai Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Software Engineer II to join the Network Operations Systems Group. You will design, develop, and maintain high-reliability systems and collaborate with international teams across web and console interfaces.

Responsibilities include software analysis, design, and implementation, supporting the full product lifecycle, and mentoring junior engineers while exploring emerging network operations technologies.

Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science or related field.
2+ years development experience on Linux/Unix platforms.
2+ years programming in Python, Go and/or shell script.
Knowledge of TCP/IP, HTTP, DNS, TLS/SSL.
Experience with Git/Stash and Perforce version control systems.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

Analyzing, designing, and implementing high availability systems software.
Supporting the full product life cycle from ideation to operation.
Improving testing, deployment, monitoring and maintenance of software systems.
Mentoring less experienced engineers to ensure quality solutions.
Evaluating emerging trends and technologies related to network operations and automation.
