Job summary

COWI Renewable is seeking a Power System Engineer (Cable Specialist) to join an international team in Poland. You will model, analyze, and design HV cable systems, contributing to feasibility studies, master planning, and optimized routes for reliable power transmission.

You will work with tools like CymCap, Cableizer, COMSOL, AutoCAD, and MATLAB; responsibilities include technical reports and client-facing consulting with travel to project sites.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Proficient with tools like CymCap, Cableizer, COMSOL, AutoCAD, MATLAB, MS Office.
• Solid knowledge of cable materials, sizing, joints, and installation practices.
• Understanding of international design standards; experience with thermal, mechanical, and electrical calculations; ability to read engineering drawings.
• NATO nationality required; dual nationality allowed only if both are NATO.
• Awareness of power transmission and HVDC/offshore cable markets is a plus.
• Strong analytical/problem-solving abilities; team player with willingness to travel internationally.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop underground HV cable systems, including selection, sizing, routing, and thermal analysis.
• Perform electrical calculations (parameters, EMF analysis) and verify technical documentation.
• Deliver complete cable system designs with accessories, grounding, bonding, and fiber optic components using advanced tools.
• Conduct feasibility studies, master planning, and prepare technical reports.
• Collaborate with clients through meetings, strategic planning, and business trips.
• Provide ongoing consultancy and software support to ensure effective system operation.
