Job summary

Elastic is seeking a software engineer to join the Streams program under Observability, building backend ingestion pipelines that collect telemetry from diverse sources and power Kibana UX. You will design, implement, and maintain scalable features across Managed Inputs and Integrations, while mentoring peers and ensuring system reliability.

Join a distributed, on-call team with a focus on performance, security, and maintainability, working across time zones and cloud providers.

Qualifications

Strong Go skills with debugging and troubleshooting abilities.
Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Terraform and Kafka.
Experience with Observability (tracing, metrics, logs, profiling).
Understanding of microservice architecture and distributed systems.

Responsibilities

Design, implement, deploy and maintain high-performing, scalable features across Managed Inputs and Managed Integrations.
Take ownership of projects from concept to delivery.
Provide engineering support to escalated customer cases on rotation.
Mentor peers through pull request reviews to ensure code quality.
Monitor alerts, build SLIs and SLOs to ensure stability.
Foster a positive, inclusive, and collaborative team culture across timezones.
On call for services owned (12h/day, weekly rotation).
