Job summary

Bonapolia is seeking a Senior Go Engineer to design and build scalable backend services in a microservices architecture. You will own critical components, drive architecture decisions, and mentor engineers.

The role requires 5+ years of production backend experience, deep Go knowledge, with strong SQL, gRPC, and cloud/container tooling in a high-load environment. CET time, remote-friendly and ASAP start.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of production backend engineering experience and complex product development.
• Strong Go expertise: concurrency, synchronization, context propagation, goroutine lifecycle management, and graceful shutdown.
• Experience with high-load distributed systems and microservice architecture.
• Strong SQL and data modelling: schema design, joins, indexes, query analysis, replication, partitioning, and sharding.
• Experience with MySQL or PostgreSQL and Redis caching strategies.
• Sync/async inter-service communication using gRPC and message brokers, including delivery guarantees and idempotency.
• Observability: metrics, logging, tracing, alerting, and Go profiling.
• Understanding of NFRs, SLA/SLO/SLI, Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, and cloud platforms.
• Maintainable, testable code; unit/integration testing; Git and code review workflows.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and features.
• Drive technical research, architecture design, and implementation.
• Collaborate across teams, conduct reviews, and contribute to architectural discussions.
• Own service delivery, production monitoring, maintenance, and observability.
• Mentor engineers and participate in agile ceremonies.
