The RTR Senior GL Accountant position is accountable for creating journal entries and assembling supporting documentation, as well as for tracking the contents of accounts (account reconciliation) and P&L reviews, creating financial statements, fixed assets accounting and handling financial audits.
This role cooperates on a daily basis with the North America Controller to ensure completeness, accuracy and timely delivery of financial data and reporting. Strong controlling knowledge, analytical skills and the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment are essential for this position.
Month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing activities including:
- Preparation and posting of journal entries, accruals, provisions, deferrals and other GL transactions
- Preparation and reconciliation of balance sheet accounts, supporting documentation and monthly Rollforwards
- Preparation of quarterly and annual reporting packages, financial statements and audit support documentation
- Execution of FX valuation, revaluation and documentation clearing activities
- Fixed Assets accounting including asset capitalization, depreciation, disposals and Fixed Asset Module maintenance
- Lease accounting activities including reconciliations, SAP lease set-up and review of lease modifications
- Review and posting of employee-related accruals including payroll, medical, insurance, pension and workers’ compensation provisions
- Preparation and analysis of headcount, overhead, environmental and other operational reporting files
- Posting and reconciliation of intercompany transactions, recharge processes, rebates, supplier discounts and freight accruals
- Opex review, cost center and profit center reclassifications across multiple company codes
- Coordination with internal stakeholders, auditors, HR, Accounts Payable and business controllers
- Supporting and leading process improvement initiatives and additional internal projects, including process improvement and finance process automation initiatives
- Other ad-hoc finance and accounting activities
What we want:
- Minimum 4–5 years of experience in RTR accounting and/or auditing
- Proven experience in identifying and implementing process improvements, optimization initiatives or finance process automation
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication skills, including fluency in English
- Experience working effectively across different organizational levels, functions, regions and with third parties
- Well-developed planning and organizational skills, with the ability to meet deadlines
- Ability to solve problems independently and take ownership of assigned processes and accounts
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, collaborate effectively within a team and adapt to change
- Good knowledge of MS Excel and SAP
- Nice to have: experience with Power BI, Excel macros/VBA or other reporting and automation tools
