Job summary

EPAM Systems is seeking a Senior GCP Engineer with AI expertise to help mature a centralized Cloud Product Engineering capability. You will standardize GCP usage (GKE, Cloud Run, Cloud SQL, Cloud Functions) and develop reusable Terraform modules for internal teams.

You will collaborate with data engineers and architects on a data mesh project, implementing secure, scalable cloud infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines across the GCP stack.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience with Google Cloud Platform including compute, storage, networking, and security services.
• Proven experience designing and implementing cloud infrastructure using GCP, Terraform, and GKE.
• Proficiency in DevOps practices and tools, including GitHub Actions, CI/CD, and Shell scripting.
• Knowledge of Anthos Service Mesh / Istio, networking and firewall rules, and Helm charts.
• Familiarity with GCP Monitoring and Logging.
• English level B2+ for collaboration with global teams.

Responsibilities

• Request services or permissions from the Central Cloud Engineering team and configure the GCP environment for data mesh projects.
• Collaborate with teams to define cloud infra requirements and ensure scalability, security, and reliability.
• Build CI/CD pipelines and automation with cloud deployment models using GitHub Actions.
• Create and maintain documentation related to GCP infrastructure and deployments.

Job description

We are seeking a Senior GCP Engineer with AI expertise to join a project focused on building and maturing a centralized Cloud Product Engineering capability. This capability standardizes and simplifies the consumption of GCP native services such as GKE, Cloud Run, Cloud SQL, and Cloud Functions, while developing reusable Terraform modules and consistent patterns for internal engineering teams. The role centers on implementing and managing cloud infrastructure for a data mesh architecture project with a focus on the AI stack in GCP, collaborating closely with data engineers and architects to optimize the GCP platform.

Responsibilities

• Request different services or permissions from the Central Cloud Engineering team through the established process in JIRADesign, configure, and maintain the GCP environment for the data mesh architecture project
• Collaborate with various teams to define cloud infrastructure requirements and ensure the scalability, security, and reliability of the GCP platform
• Build CI/CD pipelines and automation with cloud-specific deployment models using GitHub Actions
• Create and maintain documentation related to the GCP infrastructure and deployments
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues or performance bottlenecks related to the GCP platform
• Adhere to standards, best practices, and guides

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience with Google Cloud Platform, including compute, storage, networking, and security services
• Proven experience designing and implementing cloud infrastructure using GCP, Terraform, and GKE
• Proficiency in DevOps practices and tools, including GitHub Actions, CI/CD, and Shell scripting

• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues in a timely manner
