Job summary

HedgeServ is seeking a Senior Fund Accountant to support daily NAV production and fund accounting activities. You will work within the NAV department under supervision to ensure accurate reconciliations, pricing and client service.

Responsibilities include cash/position reconciliations, corporate actions processing, P&L preparation and accrual calculations. The role requires attention to detail, teamwork and the ability to meet tight deadlines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, accounting or finance.
• Pursuit of ACCA, CIMA, CPA or ACA is advantageous.
• Minimum 2 years' experience in a fund industry role is desired.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and well organized.
• Ability to work under time-sensitive deadlines.

• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to influence team morale.

Responsibilities

• Assist in producing daily, weekly and monthly NAV per NAV checklist.
• Perform cash, position and market value reconciliations between HedgeServ, brokers and clients.
• Respond to client queries in a timely and efficient manner.
• Identify and investigate break items on reconciliations and liaise with brokers/clients.
• Escalate fund accounting issues to the Fund Accounting Supervisor.
• Ensure all positions are priced correctly and verify corporate actions.
• Prepare daily P&L reports and review for reasonableness.
• Calculate and process income and expense accruals including fees and trading accruals.
• Comply with HedgeServ procedures and controls.
• Assist in the audit process if required.
• Collaborate with internal departments to address fund issues.
• Meet pre-agreed internal and external deadlines.
• Demonstrate flexibility and adapt to changing priorities.

Job description

A Senior Fund Accountant will be required to perform the following responsibilities within the fund accounting or NAV department. They shall be executed within the guidelines and procedures provided by HedgeServ and under the supervision and guidance of a Fund Accounting Supervisor and Fund Accounting Manager. Key responsibilities of the Fund Accountant’s role include reconciliation, trade capture, corporate actions processing, and pricing. They will be required to perform tasks accurately and within required timelines. Every Fund Accountant will receive the requisite Induction Training in addition to both compulsory training (AML/KYC) and optional training. Additional, client‑specific training will be provided by the NAV Supervisor.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the production of daily, weekly and monthly NAV, ensuring completion of specified tasks per NAV checklist
• Perform cash, position and market value reconciliations between HedgeServ, brokers and clients
• Respond to client queries in a timely and efficient manner
• Identify and investigate break items on reconciliations in a timely manner and liaise with brokers and clients to address break items
• Escalate fund accounting issues and aged items to the Fund Accounting Supervisor
• Ensure all positions are priced correctly
• Verify corporate actions to ensure accurate processing
• Prepare daily profit and loss reports and review for reasonableness
• Calculate and process income and expense accruals including fee calculations and trading accruals
• Comply with HedgeServ’s defined checklists, procedures and controls
• Assist in the audit process if required
• Collaborate and liaise with internal service departments to address miscellaneous fund issues
• Ensure pre‑agreed internal and external deadlines are met consistently
• The role requires flexibility and the ability to adapt to changing priorities

Our requirements:

• Completed bachelor’s degree in business, accounting or finance.
• Intention to actively pursue a professional accounting qualification (ACCA, CIMA, CPA, ACA) is not required but would be an advantage.
• Minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role within the funds industry is desired. Alternative HedgeFund experience may be considered.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
