Job summary

Atos is seeking a Senior Software Engineer (Full Stack) to join the SIMPL Programme, delivering a secure, modular platform for European data spaces. You will design and implement backend services with Java 21 and Spring, and frontend apps with React/TypeScript, collaborating with Architects, PO, BA, Test Engineers and DevOps.

The role focuses on hands-on development across the stack, with emphasis on scalable APIs, event-driven integrations and secure coding practices in a multinational team.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software development experience, including hands‑on full‑stack development.
• Strong practical experience with Java, ideally Java 21, Spring Framework and Spring Boot.
• Strong hands‑on experience with React and TypeScript.
• Solid experience in REST API design and integration.
• Practical experience with Apache Kafka and event‑driven integrations.
• Good knowledge of relational databases and database interactions.
• Experience with automated testing, JUnit, Git and code‑review practices.
• Experience working within Agile/Scrum delivery teams.
• Understanding of secure coding and software quality practices.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively within an international, cross‑functional team.
• Very good command of English.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test and maintain backend services using Java 21, Spring Framework and Spring Boot.
• Develop modern frontend applications using React, TypeScript and JavaScript.
• Design, develop and maintain REST APIs and platform integrations.
• Build and support event-driven integrations using Apache Kafka.
• Develop and optimize application interactions with relational databases.
• Ensure high code quality through automated testing, peer reviews, JUnit, SonarQube and secure coding practices.
• Identify and address security findings and vulnerabilities, including those identified through Fortify and other security scans.
• Build and package applications using Maven and support deployment and operational activities in Tomcat-based environments, Argo and Rancher.
• Investigate and troubleshoot technical issues using logs, monitoring tools and Elasticsearch.
• Maintain code, configuration and technical documentation using Git, Jira and Confluence.
• Contribute to engineering best practices and continuous improvement across the programme.
