Job summary

Luxoft Poland is hiring an experienced Software Developer to modernize a mission-critical Portfolio Management System used by investment professionals. You will transform a mature WPF-based desktop platform into a modern, scalable ecosystem, covering UI, API development, performance, and architecture modernization.

Your role spans desktop and web delivery, API integration, and AI-enabled user experiences. You’ll work across data, service, and frontend layers with DevExpress and .NET

Qualifications

• 10+ years of professional software engineering experience delivering enterprise applications.
• Strong C# and .NET experience, including legacy .NET Framework and modern .NET versions.
• Deep experience with WPF, XAML, MVVM, desktop application architecture, and multithreading.
• Buy-side investment technology experience, particularly PMS/OMS/EMS and front-office workflows.
• Hands-on DevExpress experience, including complex grids and performance-sensitive UIs.
• Experience designing RESTful APIs using ASP.NET Core or equivalent.
• Python development for services, automation, analytics, or AI-related components.
• Strong SQL Server development and performance tuning skills.
• Experience creating both web-based and rich desktop applications.
• Profiling, diagnostics, memory management, performance tuning, and production troubleshooting.
• Experience with Git, CI/CD, and Azure DevOps or similar platforms.

Responsibilities

• Upgrade and modernize existing .NET/WPF/DevExpress applications.
• Refactor legacy components, reduce technical debt, and improve maintainability.
• Enhance UX while preserving critical front-office workflows.
• Contribute to target architecture decisions and phased modernization.
• Investigate and resolve performance issues across desktop/server/db/integration layers.
• Profile and optimize data loading, caching, and resource management.
• Design and build secure RESTful APIs for PMS data access.
• Develop integrations with trading, risk, reporting, and analytics systems.
• Implement authentication, authorization, validation, auditing, observability.
• Produce API specifications and technical documentation.
• Build AI-enabled prompt/chat experiences and integrate LLMs.
• Deliver across frontend, backend, service, integration, and data layers.
