We are looking for a self-contained, Senior Front End Engineer, to join our new internal team, working on a technologically modern eCommerce platform.

The eCommerce platform consists of several Python applications for backend services connected to React applications. As an Engineer, your primary focus will be developing user-facing web applications and components, implemented with the React framework, following industry standard practices and workflows.

Working closely with our Asia-pacific based development partners, you will leverage the latest AI enabled technologies and agentic systems in delivering high quality, robust, secure, and maintainable code. You will coordinate with other team members, including backend developers, UX/UI designers and Business stakeholders. Your commitment to team collaboration, communication, and a quality product is crucial.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement user-facing applications using React.
• Build modular and reusable components and libraries.
• Ensure the respect of coding standards.
• Implement automated unit testing.
• Stay up to date with all recent developments in the current stack technologies.
• Contribute to platform maintenance such as security updates and issues found with React/Next.js and all project dependencies.
• Propose any upgrades and updates necessary for keeping up with modern security and development best practices and standards.
• Develop features as full packages considering SEO, performance, and accessibility.

Qualifications

• You have experience in varied companies, teams, and diverse projects.
• You are highly proficient with the TypeScript language and its modern ES6+ syntax and features.
• You are highly proficient with the React library and its core principles such as components, state, hooks, contexts, and the virtual DOM.
• You are highly proficient with the Next.js framework, server-side rendering (SSR), and incremental static regeneration (ISR).
• You are highly proficient in consuming GraphQL APIs using Apollo Client.
• You are familiar with Material UI and styled components.
• You have a good understanding of HTML5 and CSS3.
• You have knowledge of Tailwind CSS.
• You understand server-side rendering and its benefits and use cases.
• You are familiar with frontend unit test frameworks and implementation such as Jest.
• You are proficient with modern development tools such as Git and Vite.
• You are comfortable with CI/CD, feature flags, and automated testing.
• You have practical expertise in HTTP, caching, and CDNs.
• You are familiar with Agile methodologies such as Scrum and Kanban.
