Job summary

IFS is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer, R&D AI Services to embed with product teams and solve real business problems using AI. You will match AI services to problems, design AI-first apps, and, where needed, build new services.

You will work hands-on with data pipelines, model serving, and MLOps, ensuring production-grade reliability. You will collaborate with product owners and engineering leads, translating business pain points into actionable AI roadmaps and integrating AI capabilities

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience building and deploying production systems.
• Strong Python, with ability to work across other languages.
• Cloud-native service development and operation experience (Azure AKS, Blob Storage, Key Vault).
• Experience integrating LLMs and AI services into production applications.
• Hands-on experience with agentic systems and MCP.
• Experience designing production RAG and retrieval systems (embeddings, vector DBs).
• Strong REST APIs, authentication/authorization, data contracts, and complex integrations.
• Deployment & IaC: Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, GitOps/ArgoCD, Terraform.
• Data pipelines and storage across relational, document, vector, and object stores.

Responsibilities

• Embed with product teams to map business flows and identify AI opportunities.
• Lead technical discovery to distinguish bottlenecks from symptoms.
• Leverage AI service catalog to design AI-first applications or scope new services.
• Own end-to-end development of new AI services when gaps exist.
• Work on data pipelines, model training and serving, and MLOps tooling.
• Ship fast, then harden with monitoring and real production reliability.
• Translate business requirements into actionable AI roadmap inputs.
• Collaborate with product owners and engineers, communicating trade-offs clearly.
