Job summary
AECOM Kraków is recruiting a Principal Engineer - Flood Modeling to join the Enterprise Capabilities team. The role covers lead responsibilities in flood modelling, hydraulic analysis, and risk assessment for diverse water projects across UK&I, following established design workflows and QA standards.
You will develop and review hydraulic models with Flood Modeller, TUFLOW, HEC-RAS and InfoWorks ICM, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate with internal clients to deliver high-quality outputs on
Qualifications
- Over 10 years of experience in flood modelling and flood risk assessment.
- Experience with hydraulic modelling software (Flood Modeller and/or TUFLOw) and hydrological assessments using FEH/REFH2.
- Demonstrable experience on UK&I projects.
- Strong GIS skills using QGIS, ArcGIS and MapInfo.
- Fluent in English, both oral and written.
Responsibilities
- Technical expert: lead estimation of flood flows and develop hydraulic models to support flood alleviation schemes and risk assessments.
- Deliver high-quality reports detailing model builds and uncertainties; scope modelling approaches.
- Collaborate with engineers and technical specialists to deliver flood risk projects across water, coastal and drainage domains.
- Lead and mentor team members; foster internal collaboration.
- Ensure outputs meet programme and budget using the firm’s project management tools.
