Job summary

A leading service center in finance located in Radom, Poland, seeks an experienced accounting professional. The role involves building expertise in accounting knowledge, managing month-end and year-end closing activities, and reviewing internal controls. Candidates should possess strong knowledge of German and Polish accounting standards, hold a degree in Accounting or Finance, and have over 5 years of experience, preferably in an international context. A solid understanding of IFRS and SAP is essential, along with fluent German and English.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of proven experience in accounting, preferably as Chief Accountant or Expert Accountant.
• Solid knowledge of IFRS and accounting standards.
• Ability to work independently and communicate with senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Build expertise in accounting knowledge for finance teams.
• Handle month-end and year-end closing activities.
• Review internal controls and support audit activities.
• Consult on the transition of financial processes into the SSC.

Job description

Take on challenging tasks

• building expertise accounting knowledge in our SSC Finance teams
• problem solving more complex accounting and tax topics
• being a sparring partner for local accountants to discuss complex accounting and tax topic
• creating and maintaining knowledge libraries incl exception lists and making sure our finance teams consistently improving their knowledge
• handling month-end closing and year-end closing activities
• developing and improving accounting procedures, policies and internal controls
• reviewing internal controls and account reconciliation and supporting internal and external audit activities
• participating in consolidation processes in line with group accounting policies
• consulting the transition of financial processes into the Shared Services Center

Your skills

• solid knowledge of German and Polish accounting and tax standards, policies and systems
• Fluent German and ability to communicate with Senior Stakeholders
• A degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field or/and ACCA/CIMA qualification
• Fluent in English
• good knowledge of IFRS
• 5+ years of proven experience in accounting, including experience as a Chief Accountant/Expert Accountant, preferably in international or multi-entity environment
• Ability to work independently
• Experience with SAP
• Great problem solving skills
• Ability to educate/ share knowledge with more junior team members
