NN Group in Warsaw seeks a Senior Engineering Manager to connect business priorities with secure, scalable tech. You will lead managers and experts, shape roadmaps, and ensure delivery aligns with NN strategy across security and cost considerations.

You will drive SSDLC improvements, govern budgets, and collaborate with Product Owners and Segment Leaders to deliver high-impact solutions in a complex, multinational environment. Fluency in English is essential.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience managing IT teams, including 4+ years leading software development teams.
• Technical higher education with ability to make informed technology decisions.
• Strong knowledge of Agile and Waterfall delivery and SSDLC processes.
• Knowledge of Kafka, Java, React, PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, Azure and VMware; awareness of AI technologies.
• Excellent communication, budget management and enterprise architecture oversight.

Senior Engineering Manager

As a Senior Engineering Manager in Warsaw, you will be a supporter of change by connecting business priorities with secure, scalable technology. You will lead engineering teams, shape the application landscape and help NN deliver solutions that create lasting value for customers.

Your impact at NN: what you will do

You will provide technology leadership for business application development and maintenance, translating business ambitions into realistic roadmaps, investment decisions and engineering outcomes. You will lead managers and experts, strengthen engineering capabilities and ensure that delivery, architecture, security and costs remain aligned with NN strategy.

Key responsibilities:

• Partner with Chief Product Owners, Product Owners and Segment Leaders to define technology roadmaps, estimate initiatives, prepare business cases and secure the resources needed to deliver business plans.
• Lead and develop engineering managers, Software Engineering Leads and experts, setting clear objectives, building capabilities and ensuring knowledge continuity across the area.
• Own the architecture of the business domain and oversee application and infrastructure security, including architecture documentation, security audits and corporate cybersecurity standards.
• Drive engineering excellence by establishing and improving Secure Software Development Life Cycle (SSDLC) processes, delivery standards and best practices across Agile and Waterfall environments.
• Manage maintenance and development budgets, including CAPEX, OPEX and personnel costs, in partnership with business leaders and Controlling, while continuously optimizing technology spend.
• Contribute to the IT strategy and lead its execution by evaluating new technologies, AI trends and practices from the market, NN Group and NN International.

Who you will work with

You will join the Business Applications Development and Maintenance Department within Business Technology - IT. You will work in a senior engineering leadership team with other Managers and Software Engineering Leads, reporting to the Engineering Director.

Who you are

• At least 8 years of experience managing IT teams, including at least 4 years leading software development teams, with experience managing both managers and senior experts.
• A technical higher education and a basic practical understanding of programming techniques, combined with the ability to make informed technology and architecture decisions.
• Good knowledge of Agile and Waterfall delivery approaches and experience establishing Secure Software Development Life Cycle (SSDLC) processes.
• Good knowledge of Kafka, Java, React, PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, Azure and VMware, together with awareness of AI technologies and emerging trends.
• Strong communication and business partnering skills, budget management experience, and the ability to oversee enterprise architecture and cybersecurity in a complex organization.
• Fluent English and experience collaborating with international stakeholders in a multicultural environment.
• An AI enthusiast mindset, with curiosity about AI technologies and the motivation to translate emerging trends into practical engineering and business value.

Nice to have

• Experience with Kubernetes, SAFe, Scrum, PMI or PRINCE2 environments.
• Experience preparing technology business cases and presenting investment needs to executive stakeholders.
