Job summary

Woodward, Inc. is seeking a Software Verification Engineer to design test cases and test stations and verify software for modern industrial electronics used in power generation and marine applications.

You will analyze requirements, create test plans, and automate tests using Python (PyTest) and NI LabVIEW/TestStand, while collaborating with embedded software teams to ensure robust quality. The role involves testing on real targets with Hardware-in-the-Loop and a hybrid work setup.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electronics/Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• 4–6 years of software testing experience.
• Good/very good knowledge of NI LabVIEW and/or Python scripting for test automation.
• Experience with requirements management tools and version control systems.
• Ability to use laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, power supplies, DAQ, logic analyzers.
• ISTQB Foundation Level certificate is a plus; knowledge of NI TestStand is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Requirements analysis, test plan and test cases creation.
• Automate testing using various tools and approaches.
• Execute automated and manual testing per predefined test plans.
• Collaborate with Embedded/OS software developers to assure software quality.
• Expand automated test frameworks in Python (PyTest) and NI LabVIEW/TestStand to implement verification strategy.
• Testing on real targets and instrumentation with Hardware in the Loop concept.
