Blue Origin LLC is seeking an experienced embedded firmware engineer to develop secure enclave firmware for custom ASICs, including ROM code, bootloaders, and OTA update support. You will work with silicon, software, security, and system teams to define interfaces and security requirements, ensuring a robust lifecycle for secure devices.

You will contribute to pre‑silicon development and silicon bring‑up, applying your expertise in secure boot, root‑of‑trust, and cryptographic key management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (EE/CE/CS).
• 8+ years of embedded software/firmware experience for SoCs/ASICs.
• Strong C/C++ and low‑level embedded development.
• Experience bootloaders, ROM code, BSPs, device drivers or low‑level firmware.
• Solid understanding of embedded processor architectures, memory maps, interrupts and peripherals.
• Experience debugging with JTAG, trace, logic analyzers or equivalent.
• Knowledge of secure boot, root of trust, cryptographic key management, device identity, or secure firmware updates.
• Ability to collaborate with ASIC and hardware teams during pre‑silicon development.

Responsabilités

• Develop ROM code, bootloaders, and runtime firmware for secure enclaves within custom ASICs.
• Design and implement firmware for secure boot, device attestation, and root‑of‑trust functionality.
• Develop firmware infrastructure for OTA updates, recovery, and secure lifecycle management.
• Support manufacturing provisioning including device identity, keys, credentials, and secure configuration.
• Develop and support secure debug, telemetry, tamper monitoring, and device recovery mechanisms.
• Collaborate with ASIC, security, software, and system teams to define hardware/software interfaces and security requirements.
• Support pre‑silicon firmware development and validation using simulation or FPGA platforms.
• Assist silicon bring‑up, debugging, validation, and production deployment of secure‑enclave firmware.
• Produce high‑quality, maintainable embedded software with unit testing, code review, and documentation.
