Job summary

Capgemini Engineering in Poland is seeking a Senior Electrical Power Systems Engineer to join our team, supporting the design of electrical power systems from main generator to end-use loads, with MV/LV distribution and safety-related capabilities.

You will lead design, perform ETAP studies, develop procurement specifications, and ensure compliance with CNSC/NRC and international standards. A strong background in high-reliability industries and a professional license is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering; Master's preferred.
• US PE, Canadian PEng, or equivalent license.
• Experience with ETAP and digital engineering tools.
• Experience in high-reliability industries such as nuclear or power generation.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and integration of safety-related and non-safety electrical systems, MV/LV distribution.
• Perform load flow, short circuit, motor starting, and relay coordination using ETAP.
• Prepare deliverables: specifications, load lists, diagrams, calculations.
• Develop procurement specs for transformers, switchgear, gensets, UPS; liaise with suppliers.
• Support regulatory compliance with CNSC/NRC and IEC/IEEE/CSA/NEC/EU standards.

Your role

We are looking for a Senior Electrical Power Systems Engineer to join our team supporting the design of electrical power systems. This is a highly technical and impactful role covering the full spectrum of electrical systems — from the main generator and grid connection through to in-plant distribution and end-use loads.

Your tasks

• Leading the design and integration of safety-related (SC1/Class 1E) and non-safety (SC2/SC3) electrical systems, including Medium Voltage (MV) and Low Voltage (LV) distribution architectures across the plant
• Performing complex electrical studies including load flow, short circuit, motor starting, and protective relay coordination using ETAP software in accordance with ANSI and IEC standards
• Preparing key electrical engineering deliverables such as Requirements Specifications, Electrical Load Lists, One-Line Diagrams, Calculations, Schematics, and 3-Line Diagrams, ensuring all outputs are on-spec, on-budget, and on-schedule
• Developing detailed procurement specifications for major electrical components including main transformers, switchgear, diesel generators, and UPS systems, and collaborating closely with suppliers throughout the procurement process
• Supporting regulatory compliance and licensing activities in line with nuclear-specific standards and requirements from both the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC) and the US Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), as well as applicable codes including IEEE, IEC, CSA, NEC, and EU standards

Your profile

• A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (Master's preferred), combined with strong experience in heavy or high-reliability industries such as nuclear, power generation, process, marine, oil & gas, or military environments
• A professional engineering licence (US PE, Canadian PEng, or internationally recognised equivalent), demonstrating your commitment to engineering excellence and accountability
• Proven hands‑on experience with electrical analysis tools (particularly ETAP), alongside proficiency in digital engineering and collaboration platforms such as Hexagon Smart Electrical (SPEL), DOORS-NextGen, AutoCAD, MicroStation, or equivalent
• Strong knowledge and practical application of relevant codes and standards (IEEE, IEC, CSA, NEC), with demonstrated experience in grid integration, generator interconnection agreements, and protection & control systems including GE‑Multilin and SEL relay programming
