Job summary

Aptiv Kraków is seeking a software engineer to design and maintain an edge packaging and runtime system for AI on heterogeneous devices. The role includes on-device orchestration, OTA updates, and cross-architecture builds, with opportunities to influence architecture and AI tooling practices.

You will work across cloud, edge, and device layers, collaborating with teams in the US, Europe, and India, to deliver robust, scalable platforms and contribute to cutting-edge AI infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or related field
• 3+ years of software engineering experience, incl. 2+ years in embedded Linux or systems programming
• Proficiency in Rust or Python; C/C++ is a plus
• Hands-on experience using agentic AI tools in the software development workflow

Responsibilities

• Design and implement edge packaging and runtime system with OCI-based approach
• Maintain on-device orchestration platform (daemon, CLI, IPC, libraries) including OTA updates
• Optimize inference and resource usage on constrained hardware
• Harden cross-compilation and CI/CD pipelines for multi-architecture builds
• Integrate device fleet with cloud control plane and backend services (REST/gRPC, OpenAPI, MQTT)
• Guide technical direction for core platform components
• Use AI coding tools daily for implementation, refactoring, review, and debugging
• Raise AI-assisted engineering practices and guardrails
