Job summary

HeadHR client seeks a Senior Drupal Engineer to own the architecture, performance, security, and deployments for a Europe-wide production site. You will operate with high autonomy within the technical SEO team, bridging custom Drupal backend with cloud infrastructure.

Technologies include Drupal 10, PHP 8.x, Symfony, Twig, AWS, Docker, CircleCI, Git, Datadog and a headless CMS. Expect on-call rotation and close collaboration with editorial CMS teams.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of production software development experience.
• Hands-on Drupal 10 custom module development.
• Strong mastery of PHP 8.x, Symfony, and Twig.
• Solid understanding of technical SEO principles (URL structure, redirects, page speed, structured data).
• Experience with AWS, Docker, CircleCI, and Git.
• Autonomous, proactive mindset with end-to-end ownership.
• English proficiency; Agile methodologies such as SCRUM or Kanban.

Responsibilities

• Developing custom Drupal 10 modules using PHP 8.x, Symfony components, and Twig templating.
• Managing AWS and Docker containerized setups alongside CircleCI deployment pipelines.
• Driving technical SEO implementation, including URL structure, redirects, Core Web Vitals, and structured data.
• Monitoring system health and site performance with Datadog for high availability.
• Executing regular security patches, Drupal updates, and core upgrades.
• Supporting editorial CMS workflows and contributing to headless CMS architecture.
• Participation in on-call rotation.

As the senior Drupal engineer in the high-impact production site driving critical SEO traffic, you will take full accountability for architecture, performance, security, and deployments. • Solid understanding of technical SEO principles (URL structure, redirects, page speed performance, structured data)
• Practical experience with AWS, Docker containerization, CircleCI pipelines, and Git version control
• Autonomous, proactive mindset with high comfort navigating ambiguity and taking end-to-end ownership
• Curiosity and foundational familiarity with JavaScript
• Computer Science degree
• Experience working with Agile methodologies such as SCRUM and/or Kanban
• Proficiency in English

Nice to have:

• Experience or interest in headless CMS architecture
• Familiarity with Platform.sh or advanced Drupal site theming
