Your Role

As a Senior Log & Observability Engineer, you will take ownership of a company-wide log and trace collection platform. Your work will enable teams to effectively monitor systems, troubleshoot issues, meet compliance requirements, and build secure, reliable software at scale.

You will design, implement, and continuously improve log and trace pipelines covering infrastructure, applications, and audit data—ensuring performance, scalability, and audit readiness.

What You’ll Do
  • Design, implement, and operate log and trace collection infrastructure using OpenSearch/Elasticsearch, Kafka/Confluent Cloud, Kubernetes, Terraform, Vector.dev, and OpenTelemetry
  • Configure and fine‑tune log data collection to ensure high‑quality, relevant data
  • Monitor, optimize, and scale log pipelines to support growing systems and data volumes
  • Implement data parsing, preparation, and cleansing strategies to deliver actionable insights
  • Collaborate with engineering, DevOps, and security teams to support monitoring, troubleshooting, SIEM, and compliance needs
  • Improve tooling, processes, and technologies related to log collection and observability
  • Troubleshoot and analyze issues in log ingestion and processing
  • Support traceability for debugging, audit‑proof archiving, and long‑term retention
  • Enable self‑service log visualization for different user groups
  • Contribute to compliance initiatives, including KRITIS and NIS2
  • Share knowledge through documentation, training materials, and best practices
What We’re Looking For
  • Solid professional experience in log collection and observability, including:
    • OpenSearch / Elasticsearch: 3+ years
    • Kafka / Confluent Cloud: 3+ years
    • Kubernetes: 2+ years
    • Terraform: 2+ years
    • Vector.dev: 1+ year
  • Strong understanding of log collection architectures and observability concepts
  • Hands‑on experience with log parsing, data pipelines, and data cleansing
  • Experience with monitoring, analysis, and visualization of log data
  • Knowledge of scaling and optimizing high‑volume log infrastructures
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
  • Team‑oriented mindset and ability to work with multiple stakeholders
  • Awareness of security aspects of logging and handling sensitive data
Nice to Have
  • Experience with OpenTelemetry‑based tracing
  • Familiarity with SIEM platforms
  • Experience working in regulated or compliance‑driven environments
