Job summary

Openchip & Software Technologies S.L. in Gdansk, Poland, seeks a Senior DevOps Engineer to define and implement tools for the full software lifecycle in a hybrid on-prem and cloud-native environment. The role focuses on Linux-based infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and security practices.

You will collaborate with teams building compilers, firmware, AI stacks, and middleware, champion IaC, and drive operational excellence across distributed systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master’s degree in a relevant field.
• 5+ years of DevOps / SRE / infrastructure engineering experience.
• Strong Linux skills
• Solid networking knowledge around DNS and routing.
• Experience building automation and tooling in Python and Go.
• Hands-on experience with container technologies and orchestration (Kubernetes).
• Familiarity with hybrid and on-prem infrastructure management.
• Comfort with infrastructure as code and config management tools (Terraform, Ansible, etc.).
• Fluency in English (written and spoken).
• Ownership mentality — proactive, accountable, and driven to solve problems independently.
• Experience with standard tools for source control (git), continuous integration, task management (Jira).
• Soft Skills: team player, curious learner, cross-team collaboration, proactive.

Responsibilities

• Lead definition of DevOps best practices, processes, and tools.
• Collaborate with hardware teams on co-design.
• Work with teams developing compilers, firmware, AI stacks, and middleware.
• Code reviews, bug triaging, design documents.
• Maintain CI/CD pipelines and IaC automation.
• Operate and tune Linux servers for performance and resilience.
• Implement Docker and Kubernetes for containerization and orchestration.
• Drive monitoring, alerting, and incident response practices.
• Define DevOps and DevSecOps standards and documentation from scratch.
• Troubleshoot networking (DNS, firewalls, VPNs, load balancers) in virtualized and physical environments.
