Job summary

Kolomolo in Kraków, Poland is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to evolve and scale our Databricks-based data platform. This role involves engineering, architecture, and collaboration with domain teams for effective platform adoption.

We are looking for candidates with deep hands-on experience in data technologies, particularly with Databricks and AWS services. The position offers a flexible work environment and numerous opportunities for career growth.

Qualifications

• Experience working in agile/scrum delivery teams.
• Deep hands‑on experience with Apache Spark (Python and SQL), Databricks Jobs, Workflows, Notebooks, and Declarative Asset Bundles.
• Strong hands‑on experience with AWS services (e.g., S3, Glue, Lambda, IAM, EKS, Redshift).
• Proficiency in Terraform, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), CI/CD.
• Experience of working with multi‑account cloud infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Act as the go‑to Databricks expert for spoke teams across the organisation.
• Support teams through onboarding, architecture reviews, and hands-on technical coaching.
• Embed observability, validation, and data quality directly into the framework.
• Design and implement Unity Catalog access control models.
• Stay ahead of the Databricks roadmap and evaluate new capabilities for the platform.
