Job summary

Dun & Bradstreet in Warszawa seeks an experienced Database Administrator to manage a diverse estate (Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB) ensuring performance, security, and availability.

You will split time between operations and migration projects, using Ansible, Splunk, and monitoring tools, with a security-first, ITIL-aligned approach and opportunities to influence resilient data platforms.

Qualifications

• 3-5+ years hands-on database administration across at least two of: Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB.
• Solid SQL skills and real experience with performance tuning, backup/recovery and high availability.
• Exposure to heterogeneous database migrations (Oracle to PostgreSQL/SQL Server is a big plus).
• Comfort in virtualised environments (VMware/vSphere, GCP/GCVE/AWS) and mixed Linux/Windows hosting.
• Working knowledge of ServiceNow and/or Jira, and ITIL processes (incident, change, problem).
• Scripting and automation instincts (Ansible, PowerShell, shell, Python).
• Fluent English; other European languages welcome.
• An ownership mindset, curious, proactive, and a genuine team player.

Responsibilities

• Handle incidents, service requests, change requests and vulnerability remediation through ServiceNow, following ITIL practice.
• Build and improve monitoring and observability using Splunk, Zabbix and OpenTelemetry-based database metrics.
• Automate the boring stuff, patching and provisioning via Ansible, GitHub and NinjaOne.
• Work security-first: Imperva, Nessus, CyberArk, and alignment with ISO 27001, SOX, CIS and GDPR controls.

About the role

We run one of the most diverse database estates in the business, spanning Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL and MongoDB, hosted across multiple data centres.

You'll keep this estate healthy, secure and fast, and you'll play a real part general migration efforts. This isn't a "keep the lights on and nothing else" job. Half your time is operations, half is projects that actually move the needle.

What you'll actually do
