Job summary

dotLinkers Sp. z o.o. in Kraków is seeking a Senior Database Engineer to design, optimize and scale high-performance database infrastructure supporting millions of transactions and real-time data flows.

You will work with relational and document databases, Kafka-based streaming and data lakes, with a strong focus on performance, reliability and data consistency under high concurrency. Remote start with hybrid office work in Kraków.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in database engineering or related roles.
• Strong experience with PostgreSQL/MySQL and document databases.
• Kafka/CDC experience and real-time data processing.
• Cloud database operations and SQL performance tuning.
• Automation via Python and CI/CD for databases.

Responsibilities

• Design efficient schemas and low-latency access in microservices.
• Analyze and optimize query performance and bottlenecks.
• Implement partitioning, retention and archival strategies.
• Move historical data to data lake solutions like Snowflake/S3.
• Operate real-time CDC pipelines with Kafka/Debezium.
• Maintain backups, security and access controls in cloud envs.
• Build database CI/CD pipelines and automated deployments.
• Automate ETL, data quality checks and anomaly detection.
