Job summary

Atos is seeking an experienced Senior Database Administrator to join our multinational team. You will manage PostgreSQL and MySQL/MariaDB databases across on‑premise and cloud (AWS/Azure/GCP) environments, driving migrations, automation, and optimization.

You’ll work in a global setting, support enterprise systems, and contribute to cloud migrations, backups, and high‑availability strategies. The role offers a flexible work model and opportunities for certification and growth.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience administering PostgreSQL and MySQL/MariaDB in on‑prem environments.
• Experience with cloud deployments (AWS, Azure, GCP) and migrations.
• Hands‑on with backups, recovery, and high availability strategies.
• Familiarity with automation and scripting (Python, Ansible, Terraform)

Responsibilities

• Provide L3 support for PostgreSQL / MySQL / MariaDB on‑prem and cloud environments.
• Diagnose performance and availability issues and apply fixes.
• Maintain and upgrade database environments and clusters.
• Manage high availability, replication, and backups/recoveries.
• Perform migrations (on‑prem to cloud) and contribute to automation efforts.
• Collaborate with teams and document architecture (HLD/LLD).
• Assist with provisioning and deployments of databases.

About The Role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Database Administrator to join our international team. In this role, you will manage and optimise PostgreSQL and MySQL/MariaDB databases across on-premise and cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).

You will be working in a multinational environment, supporting enterprise-scale systems and contributing to cloud migration and automation initiatives.

Your Responsibilities

• Provide L3 support for PostgreSQL / MySQL / MariaDB environments (on-prem & cloud)
• Diagnose and resolve performance and availability issues
• Maintain and upgrade database environments and clusters
• Manage high availability and replication solutions
• Perform database migrations (on-prem → cloud)
• Automate DBA activities using Python, Ansible, or Terraform
• Manage backup and restore processes (e.g. Barman, Networker)
• Support database provisioning and deployments
• Collaborate with internal teams and customers
• Create and maintain technical documentation (HLD / LLD)

What We Expect

• 5+ years of experience in PostgreSQL and MySQL/MariaDB administration (on-prem)
• 3+ years of experience in cloud environments (AWS / Azure / GCP)
• Experience with
  • PostgreSQL / MySQL clusters and tools (pgbouncer, pgpool, HAProxy)
  • Database backup and recovery
  • Database installation, upgrades (minor & major)
  • Data migration tools (pgdump, pg_restore, mysqldump, etc.)
• Knowledge of monitoring and performance tuning
• Hands-on experience with replication and HA solutions
• Experience with automation tools (Python, Ansible, Terraform)

Nice to have

• Knowledge of PITR (Point-in-Time Recovery) and continuous archiving
• Cloud certifications (Azure AZ-900, AWS CCP, GCP Digital Leader)
• Python certification (PCEP)
• EDB PostgreSQL certification
