Job summary

Sigma Software is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to maintain and enhance scalable data pipelines for a cybersecurity project. You will analyze complex data models, optimize SQL, and drive modernization across the data platform in a remote-friendly, EU-aligned setting.

You will collaborate with international teams to deliver reliable data workflows, work independently in a high-autonomy environment, and contribute to both immediate delivery goals and long-term platform evolution.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of commercial data engineering experience.
• Expert-level SQL optimization for performance and scalability.
• Hands-on with DBT for data transformation and modeling.
• Solid understanding of database concepts: DDL, DML, and advanced SQL.
• Hands-on experience with Snowflake.
• Experience with Elastic Stack technologies.
• Proven experience designing, building, and maintaining large-scale data pipelines.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently in a high-autonomy environment.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Upper-Intermediate English level.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and enhance data processes with focus on reliability, scalability, and performance.
• Analyze and understand existing data models, tables, workflows, and processing jobs.
• Identify gaps, bottlenecks, inefficiencies and opportunities for system improvements.
• Design, optimize, and support large-scale data pipelines and transformations.
• Drive modernization initiatives across the data platform and implement architectural improvements.
• Optimize complex SQL queries and improve data processing latency.
• Collaborate with product engineering teams to align on technical solutions and implementation strategies.
• Support both short-term delivery goals and long-term platform evolution.
• Ensure adherence to best practices in data engineering, performance optimization, and system reliability.
