Job summary

Bayer in Poland (Mazowieckie, Warszawa) is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to lead building and operating reliable data pipelines for clinical data, ensuring compliant, scalable data ecosystems.

You will collaborate in an agile environment, mentor colleagues, and implement integration patterns, data governance, and secure data consumption across humans, systems, and AI agents. This role offers hybrid work and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, data science, information technology, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in data engineering or similar role delivering production-grade data pipelines.
• Strong ownership, documentation, and mentoring abilities.
• Proficiency with Databricks, DBX, Unity Catalog, and governance models.
• Experience with API patterns and integrating data from multiple sources (OpenSharing/Delta Sharing, Iceberg-Sharing, ODBC, GraphQL).
• Proficiency in Python, PySpark, and Kapitan.
• Experience with Git and CI/CD pipelines (YAML).
• Understanding of data security principles and practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and operation of reliable data pipelines for clinical data.
• Collaborate with stakeholders in an agile setup to capture data requirements.
• Maintain a coherent, scalable data landscape and ensure data quality.
• Contribute to design of integration patterns and data semantics.
• Work with infrastructure teams to ensure secure, efficient systems.
• Mentor less‑experienced colleagues and uphold coding standards.
