Job summary

Zifo is seeking a senior data engineer to be the primary technical reference for building R&D data products. You will design, implement and oversee data pipelines, analytics, AI services and applications with a focus on quality, security and scalable delivery.

You will mentor engineers, ensure governance and collaborate with global teams in a regulated R&D ecosystem. This role emphasizes hands-on coding, architecture decisions, and end-to-end product ownership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Life Sciences or related field.
• 3–5+ years in data engineering, analytics engineering, software engineering or AI platform roles.
• Experience operating in a matrixed environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on technical leadership across data, analytics, AI and application components from prototype to production.
• Own end-to-end design for data products: ingestion, modelling, serving, and API layer.
• Lead code reviews and set engineering standards (testing, observability, cost awareness).
• Ensure governance, security and compliance for regulated R&D data.
• Translate between scientists and engineers; drive quality and delivery outcomes.
