Job summary

Grid Dynamics is building a brand-new regulatory reporting team for a global payments technology company. Senior Data Engineer will design streaming pipelines on Kafka and model reports in Snowflake, ensuring accurate and auditable data for regulatory reporting.

You will work with a small, focused group to define how the team operates and how the architecture evolves from day one. You will implement resilient event processing, schema evolution, and data quality controls while tuning performance

Qualifications

• Commercial experience building production streaming and data pipelines.
• Strong knowledge of Kafka architecture, topics, partitions, consumer groups, and delivery guarantees.
• Advanced SQL in Snowflake with window functions, CTEs, and large-volume joins.
• Experience with Snowflake features: Streams & Tasks, Snowpipe, Time Travel.
• Experience modelling data for reporting (facts, dimensions, SCD) and implementing reconciliation.

Responsibilities

• Design and build Kafka-based data flows with Streams/Connect and idempotent producers.
• Implement error handling, retries, dead-letter queues, and schema evolution.
• Model facts and dimensions in Snowflake and enable ingestion with Streams & Tasks, Snowpipe.
• Ensure data accuracy, reconciliation, validation and deduplication for regulatory reporting.
• Monitor performance and optimize Snowflake queries and warehouse sizing.
• Help shape processes and architecture of a newly formed team.
