Job summary

Progress Partners is hiring a Senior Data Engineer to build our data platform from scratch, taking ownership of pipelines that unify high-volume payment data, marketing analytics, and operational data across AWS and GCP into a unified Lakehouse.

You will design bronze-to-gold transformations in dbt, manage Airflow orchestration, and implement infrastructure as code with cost controls in a fully remote, async environment. This is a hands-on, leadership-heavy role for data platform builders.

Qualifications

• 3+ years building production data platforms and pipelines from the ground up.
• Hands-on experience with dbt, version-controlled transformations.
• Strong AWS and GCP skills, with Terraform for infrastructure as code and a cost-conscious approach.

Responsibilities

• Design and build ingestion pipelines for high-volume data including payments, marketing analytics, and operational data.
• Build the data infrastructure for a Lakehouse using AWS and GCP.
• Develop medallion-layer transformations (Bronze -> Silver -> Gold) in dbt, with payments and marketing data on BigQuery.
• Own orchestration end-to-end in Airflow, lineage, sensors, backfills, retries, and alerting.
• Implement infrastructure as code best practices and cost controls.
