Job summary

Kake is a remote-first, people-first global community of senior engineers, spanning 45,000+ engineers in 55+ countries. We seek a Senior Data Engineer to own data analytics, pipelines, and models and partner with product and tech teams to drive data-informed decisions.

You will design scalable data architectures, ensure data quality, and translate business questions into actionable insights in a fast-paced, fully remote environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Data Analysis, Data Science, or Data Engineering.
• Strong experience with SQL and working with relational and/or NoSQL databases.
• Hands-on experience with a programming language such as Python, R, or similar.
• Experience building or maintaining data pipelines, ETL/ELT processes, or data warehouses.
• Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Looker, or similar.
• Ability to translate business questions into clear, data-driven analysis and recommendations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Ability to work independently in a remote, fast-paced environment.

We’re looking for Senior Data Engineers with strong experience in data analysis, data science, or data engineering, skilled in turning raw data into reliable insights and scalable pipelines. Nice-to-Have

• Experience with big data or cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, Azure, Snowflake, BigQuery, or similar.
• Experience with machine learning frameworks such as scikit-learn, TensorFlow, or PyTorch.
• Programming experience with data orchestration tools such as Airflow, dbt, or similar.
• AI-forward mindset with active use of AI-assisted tools for data analysis, coding, or modelling (e.g., Claude, Copilot, Cursor).
• Experience contributing to data strategy or quality initiatives at a senior level.
• Comfortable working flexible hours to overlap with distributed teams across different time zones.

• US Timezone Overlap: 5h-6h daily PST
