Job summary

Kake is a remote-first, people-first global community of senior engineers. We are seeking Senior Data Engineers who turn raw data into reliable insights and scalable pipelines, partnering with product and engineering teams to drive data-informed decisions.

You will own data pipelines, models, and analytics across large datasets, ensure data quality, and translate business questions into actionable reporting. This role supports US-timezone overlap and USD compensation.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Data Analysis, Data Science, or Data Engineering.
• Strong experience with SQL and relational and/or NoSQL databases.
• Hands-on experience with Python or R.
• Experience building or maintaining data pipelines, ETL/ELT, or data warehouses.
• Familiarity with data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, Looker).
• Ability to translate business questions into data-driven analysis and recommendations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Ability to work independently in a remote, fast-paced environment.

Core Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in Data Analysis, Data Science, or Data Engineering.
• Strong experience with SQL and working with relational and/or NoSQL databases.
• Hands-on experience with a programming language such as Python, R, or similar.
• Experience building or maintaining data pipelines, ETL/ELT processes, or data warehouses.
• Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Looker, or similar.
• Ability to translate business questions into clear, data-driven analysis and recommendations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Ability to work independently in a remote, fast-paced environment.

Nice-to-Have

• Experience with big data or cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, Azure, Snowflake, BigQuery, or similar.
• Experience with machine learning frameworks such as scikit-learn, TensorFlow, or PyTorch.
• Programming experience with data orchestration tools such as Airflow, dbt, or similar.
• AI-forward mindset with active use of AI-assisted tools for data analysis, coding, or modelling (e.g., Claude, Copilot, Cursor).
• Experience contributing to data strategy or quality initiatives at a senior level.
• Comfortable working flexible hours to overlap with distributed teams across different time zones.
