Job summary

EPAM Systems seeks a Senior Data Engineer to design, develop, and enhance an enterprise data platform. You will build Python-based ETL/ELT workflows, design data pipelines, and model data for analytics and downstream applications.

You will collaborate with developers, business users and data consumers in a hybrid setup, contributing to cloud integration, data quality, and scalable architectures. The role offers growth and relocation opportunities within the Poland footprint.

Qualifications

• 3+ years hands-on data engineering experience.
• Strong Python programming for ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Solid SQL skills, including query optimization and data modeling.
• Experience integrating data from OLTP databases (PostgreSQL, MS SQL Server).
• Experience implementing Medallion Architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold) or similar models.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Job description

We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to support the design, development, and enhancement of our client’s enterprise data platform. The ideal candidate is a hands‑on data engineer with strong experience building data pipelines, integrating data from operational databases, and working with modern cloud data warehouses.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain Python-based ETL/ELT workflows for data ingestion, transformation, and validation
• Design and develop data pipelines
• Develop scalable and performant data models
• Implement and maintain Medallion Architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold) data models to support analytics and downstream applications.
• Collaborate with application developers, business users, and data consumers to understand data requirements

Requirements

• 3+ years of hands‑on data engineering experience.
• Strong Python programming skills with experience building ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Solid SQL skills, including query optimization and data modeling.
• Experience integrating data from OLTP databases, including PostgreSQL and Microsoft SQL Server.
• Experience implementing Medallion Architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold) or similar layered data lake/lakehouse models.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Nice to have

• Experience with orchestration tools such as Airflow, Dagster, or Prefect.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred).
• Familiarity with dbt or similar transformation frameworks
• Experience with CI/CD for data engineering workflows
