Job summary

Sii Poland is seeking a Senior Data Architect to lead the design of customer data solutions using Microsoft Fabric and Azure. You will guide the delivery team, conduct discovery sessions with clients, and provide technical leadership to Data Engineers and Data Visualization Engineers.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in data architecture.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Fabric, OneLake, Lakehouse.
• Expertise in data warehousing and Kimball dimensional modeling.
• Experience with Azure data services and CI/CD.
• Excellent communication for customer-facing discussions.
• Fluent English and residency in Poland.

Responsibilities

• Act as the technical authority for data architecture throughout the project lifecycle.
• Lead customer discovery, requirements gathering, and envisioning sessions.
• Build relationships with customer stakeholders and communicate confidently with both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Translate business requirements into clear technical requirements, architectures, and delivery approaches.
• Produce high-quality HLDs, architecture diagrams, data flows, data models, and supporting technical documentation.
• Design Microsoft Fabric solutions using appropriate Lakehouse, OneLake, and Medallion architecture patterns.
• Define dimensional models using Kimball principles, including facts, dimensions, star schemas, grain, surrogate keys, and Slowly Changing Dimensions.
• Document architectural decisions, including rationale, assumptions, dependencies, and technical risks.

Job description

We are looking for a Senior Data Architect to join our team and lead the design of customer data solutions primarily using Microsoft Fabric and Azure. This role involves working closely with multiple clients, understanding their requirements, and conducting discovery sessions to define target architectures. You will produce high-quality documentation and designs that guide the delivery team while providing technical leadership to Data Engineers and Data Visualization Engineers. Your tasks

• Acting as the technical authority for data architecture and design throughout the project lifecycle
• Leading customer discovery, requirements gathering, and envisioning sessions
• Building strong relationships with customer stakeholders and communicating confidently with both technical and non-technical audiences
• Translating business requirements into clear technical requirements, architectures, and delivery approaches
• Producing high-quality HLDs, architecture diagrams, data flows, data models, and supporting technical documentation
• Designing Microsoft Fabric solutions using appropriate Lakehouse, Warehouse, OneLake, and Medallion architecture patterns
• Defining dimensional models using Kimball principles, including facts, dimensions, star schemas, grain, surrogate keys, and Slowly Changing Dimensions
• Making and documenting architectural decisions, including rationale, assumptions, dependencies, and technical risks

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of experience in data architecture or a related field
• Strong knowledge and practical experience with Microsoft Fabric, including OneLake, Lakehouse, and Data Factory
• Expertise in data warehousing and Kimball dimensional modeling
• Proficiency in Medallion architecture and modern data engineering patterns
• Hands-on experience with Azure data services and integration patterns
• Familiarity with CI/CD, Git, and deployment approaches for modern data platforms
• Excellent communication skills to lead customer-facing technical discussions and workshops
• Fluent English
• Residency in Poland

Nice to have

• Experience with Power BI and semantic model architecture
• Familiarity with Azure DevOps Boards and Agile/Scrum delivery
