Job summary

DCG Poland is seeking an experienced SQL Server DBA for a role based in Gdynia. The candidate will support migration planning and execution, operate SQL Server databases in hybrid environments, and ensure documentation is up to date. Key requirements include solid experience with SQL Server, database migration from on-prem to cloud, and knowledge of High Availability concepts. Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Support migration planning, execution, validation, and post‑migration stabilization
• Operate SQL Server databases in hybrid (on‑prem + cloud) environments
• Perform performance tuning, capacity planning, and troubleshooting
• Support database changes, releases, and incidents in line with ITSM processes
• Collaborate with Cloud Engineering, Security, and Application teams
• Ensure documentation, runbooks, and operational procedures are updated

Requirements

• Strong hands‑on experience as a SQL Server DBA / Database Engineer
• Solid experience with SQL Server on Windows in enterprise environments
• Experience with cloud‑based SQL Server deployments, preferably on Google Cloud (GCE)
• Experience with database migrations from on‑prem to cloud
• Knowledge of High Availability / Disaster Recovery (e.g. Always On, clustering)
• Experience working in regulated environments (banking, finance, or similar)
• SQL Server performance tuning and troubleshooting expertise
• Very good command of English, both spoken and written

Nice to have

• Experience with hybrid cloud setups
• Familiarity with infrastructure as code and automation concepts
• Exposure to audit, risk, or compliance requirements
