Job summary

EPAM Systems is seeking a Senior BIOS Engineer to fortify BIOS and firmware security across our enterprise platform. You will review signing requests, validate images against baselines, and coordinate cross-team validation while maintaining rigorous audit trails.

In this role, you’ll apply expertise in UEFI, Secure Boot, and TPM, mentor junior engineers, and communicate complex decisions to technical and non-technical stakeholders. Hybrid work within Poland is available.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of cybersecurity experience focusing on BIOS/Firmware security and testing.
• Experience with Secure Boot and TPM.
• Background in pre-boot environments (UEFI), embedded firmware, or device driver development.
• Experience supporting enterprise security infrastructure and operations.
• Strong troubleshooting across infrastructure, networking, and apps.
• Ability to independently review, analyze, and approve firmware/BIOS images.
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to justify technical decisions to diverse stakeholders.
• English proficiency at B2 level or higher.
• Experience mentoring less experienced engineers.
• Experience with Git or other source control systems.
• Knowledge of cryptographic key management and secure signing operations.

Responsibilities

• Review BIOS/Embedded Controller signing requests before signing approval.
• Analyze images to distinguish production vs test versions for expedited processing.
• Validate images against baselines in internal repositories.
• Compare images with previously approved versions using internal tools.
• Identify modifications and assess non-security-critical changes.
• Approve signing requests that align with prior reviews.
• Escalate significant changes for security review.
• Coordinate with teams for images needing extra validation.
• Support onboarding/offboarding and access reviews for users.
• Maintain access control docs and audit records.
• Document approval decisions with audit trails.
• Support BIOS/firmware investigations and security reviews.
