Vertex Agility in Cracow is seeking a Senior Backend / Full Stack Engineer to build a product analytics and telemetry platform. The role focuses on Node.js, REST APIs and databases, with backend emphasis and optional frontend exposure.

You’ll influence architecture and development practices from an early stage, collaborating with internal users and stakeholders to translate requirements into robust technical solutions.

Job Opportunity: Senior Backend / Full Stack Engineer (Node.js)

Role Overview

We’re looking for an experienced Backend / Full Stack Engineer to join a newly formed team building a product analytics and telemetry platform. The solution will collect and analyse behavioural and performance data from technology products and turn it into meaningful insights for internal users.

This is a new role giving engineers significant influence over the architecture, codebase and development practices from an early stage. The role is backend-oriented, with a primary focus on Node.js, REST APIs and databases, while frontend experience is an additional advantage.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop backend services and scalable REST APIs.
• Contribute to technical and architectural decisions for a newly built platform.
• Translate business and user requirements into practical technical solutions.
• Design and work with relational databases and data models.
• Build prototypes and proof-of-concepts to validate technical approaches.
• Maintain high standards of code quality, documentation and development practices.
• Participate across the software development lifecycle, from design and implementation through release and ongoing improvements.
• Cooperate directly with internal users and stakeholders to understand their needs and propose suitable solutions.

Requirements

• Strong commercial experience in backend software development.
• Hands-on experience with Node.js and Web APIs / REST APIs.
• Good knowledge of SQL and relational database design, preferably PostgreSQL.
• Experience working throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Practical experience with Git and modern software development practices.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to code quality.
• Good communication skills and confidence working directly with technical stakeholders and customers.

Nice to have

• Experience with Go.
• Frontend development experience with React or Angular.
