Qualifications

• Strong command of backend architecture, APIs, data systems and performance.
• Proficiency in modern backend languages and systems programming.
• Experience designing or evolving modular backend boundaries and migrations.
• Ability to lead through influence and clear written communication.
• Proven experience building or operating agentic AI in production.

Responsibilities

• Drive Technical Direction: design and ship backend features with minimal guidance.
• Raise the Bar: define backend standards for quality, security, APIs and ops.
• Mentor & Lead: mentor engineers and improve delivery practices through reviews.
• Operational Excellence: diagnose performance issues and participate in incidents.
• AI Integration: use AI in production engineering and coach others in responsible use.
