Job summary

Adaptiq Ltd. is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join a product engineering team working on large-scale systems. The role focuses on back-end work with occasional front-end contributions, owning end-to-end technical solutions from design to deployment.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, influence architecture decisions, and apply strong judgment to deliver robust, scalable services in a distributed environment. A product-minded approach and independent work ethic are essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of backend development experience
• Strong TypeScript/Node.js skills in production
• Experience with distributed systems and scalable architectures
• Proficient in PostgreSQL performance and query optimization
• Familiarity with React for frontend touches when required
• Experience with CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes and observability tooling
• Product‑oriented mindset and ability to translate requirements into technical solutions
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools is a plus

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using TypeScript and Node.js
• Own system design decisions for new capabilities and ensure integration with existing infrastructure
• Collaborate with product/engineering teams to translate requirements into technical solutions
• Optimize PostgreSQL queries, indexes, and performance
• Contribute to React frontend functionality when required by the project
• Coordinate with DevOps on deployments, observability, and production readiness
• Handle feature development, bug fixes, security improvements, and patches
• Evaluate architectural trade-offs in line with business needs
• Participate in on-call rotations to support production issues
