Job summary

Productiv is seeking a proactive Backend Developer to sustain a live microservices platform and deliver meaningful improvements. You will own bug reports, investigate across the codebase, and ship changes to production with autonomy and a team focused on quality.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to take ownership of a problem end-to-end.
• Production experience building and maintaining backend services with Node.js and TypeScript.
• Strong experience with NestJS and modular backend design.
• Solid REST/HTTP fundamentals and service-to-service communication.
• Comfortable with PostgreSQL and safe migration practices.
• Experience debugging distributed systems and tracing root causes.
• Understanding of OAuth 2.0, JWT, SSO and machine-to-machine auth.
• Experience using AI-assisted coding tools for efficient development.
• Ability to write tests to confirm fixes and prevent regressions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, status updates, and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Triage, diagnose, and fix production issues across microservices.
• Investigate root causes, apply fixes, and add regression tests.
• Deliver enhancements to existing services and integrations.
• Follow architecture patterns and internal libraries across API gateway to adapters.
• Maintain and extend integrations with external platforms (ERP, CRM, payments).
• Write and update database migration scripts and handle data-related issues safely.
• Collaborate with QA and product to clarify expected behavior and edge cases.
• Improve observability through structured logging and clear production visibility.
