Job summary

Cisco Systems, Inc. is seeking a License Manager software engineer to build and evolve core licensing capabilities using Go and C++. You will contribute to secure, reliable, and scalable product functionality, delivering features from design through implementation with strong testing practices.

The team collaborates across product management, support, and engineering partners to improve system behavior, troubleshoot complex issues, and grow ownership over broader technical areas over time.

Qualifications

• Strong, hands-on Go experience building scalable, reliable production services.
• Strong, hands-on C++ experience in production systems with performance considerations.
• Ability to work across Go services and existing C++ components, including modernization work.
• Experience leading technical design for distributed systems and APIs.
• Ability to diagnose and resolve complex performance, reliability, and production issues.
• Strong automated-testing, observability, and production-support practices.

Responsibilities

• Build, test, debug, and maintain core License Manager capabilities using Go and C++ to support secure, reliable, and scalable product functionality.
• Deliver well-scoped features, fixes, and enhancements from design through implementation and completion.
• Write clean, maintainable, and secure code with strong unit and integration test coverage.
• Investigate product and production issues to identify root causes and contribute to durable fixes.
• Collaborate with senior engineers, product management, support, and engineering partners to improve system behavior and customer value.
