Job summary

Cisco Systems, Inc. is hiring for a backend-focused engineer on the License Manager team in Kraków. The role involves building core licensing capabilities in Go and C++ for secure, reliable, and scalable product functionality.

You will deliver features end-to-end, write robust tests, and collaborate with product management and support to improve system behavior while maintaining high standards of software quality and ownership.

Qualifications

• Strong Go experience building scalable production services.
• Experience with distributed systems, APIs, secure service-to-service communication, and production support.
• Ability to reason about performance, including latency, throughput, memory use, concurrency, and failure modes.
• Strong testing, debugging, and production-troubleshooting skills.
• Experience reading C++ codebases and integrating Go services with legacy systems.

Responsibilities

• Build, test, debug, and maintain core License Manager capabilities using Go and C++.
• Deliver well-scoped features, fixes, and enhancements from design through implementation and completion.
• Write clean, secure code with strong unit and integration test coverage.
• Investigate product and production issues to identify root causes and durable fixes.
• Collaborate with senior engineers, product management, support, and engineering partners to improve system behavior and ownership.
