Job summary

AutoCorp is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join a fast-moving startup team building a scalable GraphQL API platform serving dealerships and financial institutions. You will thrive in ambiguity, iterate rapidly, and wear multiple hats.

You’ll design GraphQL APIs with PostGraphile, optimize PostgreSQL, and own background job processing, CI/CD, and observability. Join a remote-first culture with flexible hours and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of backend development with Node.js/TypeScript.
• Strong PostgreSQL expertise incl. complex queries and migrations.
• Production experience with GraphQL APIs (PostGraphile a plus).
• Solid AWS knowledge (ECS, Lambda, S3, Cognito).
• Experience with background job processing and event-driven architectures.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable GraphQL APIs and services.
• Develop and optimize SQL queries and schemas with proper indexing.
• Build and maintain background job processing systems.
• Architect plugin-based resolver systems for domain-specific logic.
• Implement robust error handling and retry mechanisms.
