Job summary

Jobgether, on behalf of a partner company, seeks a Senior Backend Engineer, Core APIs (SRE Focus) based in Poland. You will design and operate highly reliable backend services, develop core APIs, and drive observability and reliability in production.

You will own SLIs/SLOs, automate toil, lead on-call rotations, mentor engineers, and collaborate across a global, remote-first team to build scalable systems for fraud detection and real-time data processing.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of backend software engineering experience, including production systems.
• Experience with formal SRE practices (error budgets, capacity planning, production readiness reviews).
• Hands-on Go and/or Node.js with willingness to learn the other.
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend systems and APIs.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes in production.
• IaC tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Observability platforms like Datadog with instrumentation and alerting.
• SQL skills and experience with databases like DynamoDB, Redis, Elasticsearch.
• Experience on-call rotations and post-incident reviews.
• Knowledge of distributed systems, reliability, and performance engineering.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize backend services for real-time data processing and APIs.
• Define and own SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets for core API services.
